Hate to have to tell you this, but I think you might have made a bid mistake!

Still looking for the proverbial "smoking gun" people - screenshot please!
You may be right, but this is probably why you never see them. Because I've never seen someone asking for one, this thread is the first time. Most of the time, a mod that is not known as very desireable, and has very circumstancial benefits will be quickly considered merchant fodder.

So.....people dont bother trying to sell them because there's not a readily noticable demand, hence you never see them....they go straight to the dump. Just a theory.

Especially if it wasn't max of course. (which i don't believe mine was, but i'd have probably still dumped it anyway)

I have seen several WTB thread asking for these - that was actually what set me off, because I never saw anybody answering those threads!
Whenever someone posts a WTB for slaying mods for all the other kinds of weapons it usually sets off a frenzy of offers (mostly Deathbane ).

Still looking for that screenie people!

I think enough people proved that they do exist in very limited quantities, but if you really must have a screenshot Screenie

I agree with HawkofStorms that the issue hasn't been resolved yet - I haven't seen a screenie of the mod in question yet and no one has offered to show me one ingame either!

I'm not even going to comment on Zodiak's attempt at humor!

As to the: "I think, I sold one to the merchant last week" or the "I seem to recall seeing one for sale a while back" - I consider this hearsay and not proof!

As already stated: I'm still looking for real proof that they exist!

Or testimony to the contrary from long time traders!

I'm not ready to declare either way - still hoping for some proof either way!
If you feel like changing the Wiki now,- please do so! I think its premature though!

This must be a first - no one has anything to add?

Those type of mods were never all that popular. Most people just merched them, so maybe they just never bothered to make them for the newer classes. Other than "of Deathbane" I haven't seen any monster specific mods drop for any class for quite a while.

I agree they wern't widely popular. But I have seen several WTB posts for them anyway.
The question remains though:
Do the mods "+20% damage against [monster type]" exist for dagger, spear and scythe?
(apart from the +20% against Charr, that can be salvaged from a certain collectors item)

The lack of positive responses would seem to indicate "no", but maybe only ANet knows for sure.

Can they be salvaged?

From what I understand the +20% vs. char can be salvaged. Though I admit I haven't tried so myself.

This is the last chance guys - gonna take this up with Wiki if no one posts a screenie of the mod in question.

Color me another person looking for a dagger handle of (blank)slaying and no love. If these do exist they are rarer then hen's teeth. I suspect some broken code is the culprit.

Default Slaying weapons

Alright, to answer this... First of all, yes, Charrslaying weapons can be crafted in the eye of the north, however NO, they cannot be salvaged off of those weapons, I found out the hard way. Furthermore, I have never seen a single dagger, scythe, or spear mod of slaying, And find that fairly conclusive results since I had been searching for a dagger mod of Dwarfslaying ever since EoTN came out and I found out about fonris irontoe's lair. I can also confirm that they are definetly still dropping for whomever said they're not, and I'm still searching for a few (20%) axe mods for my warrior, and I would bet my coveted req 9 magmas +10 vs dwarves, -2 (stance) that they do not exist as of current.

-as for the "broken code" theory, I (personally) belive that anet didn't think to add these mods when the weapons were first introduced.

-also I don't really understand why there are staff wrappings of slaying, as the +20% damage doesn't effect spells.

Problem is that most of the weapons with those mods go to merch. Most people tend to treat even perfect slaying mods as worthless....Maybe a way would be to make a buy thread for them with some better offers even for imperfect ones. Hopefully if those mods exist someone with one of them will bump on the thread. I think then the chances will be higher. Gold tends to motivate people!

I know I've had daggers of pruning at one point. Not max, quite a low level drop. Sold them off with the mod intact to the merchant long ago. After all, who would want low level daggers that helps against plants?

Screenie or it didn't happen! Sorry, but unsubstantiated rumors are no help.

No need for two threads on the subject: Go here
